About Artist

Li Yuanguo (art name Li Shan), born in 1956 in Tengzhou (the ancient site of Xue State), Shandong, China, is a contemporary Chinese landscape painter. He graduated from the Art Department of Jining Teachers’ College in 1977, studying under the renowned watercolor artist Liu Yuanzhi, which laid a solid foundation for his artistic practice. 


Since 1978, his works have been frequently selected for provincial and municipal art exhibitions, earning multiple awards. In 1980, he received personal guidance from the celebrated landscape painter Huang Jincheng. That same year, his work "This Is the Flower of My Heart" was widely reprinted in newspapers and journals and received a government award, marking his emerging prominence in the art scene.


His works have been included in authoritative publications such as "Elite Collection of Qilu Art and Contemporary Landscape Painting Exhibition", reflecting a fusion of traditional ink techniques and modern sensibility. For decades, Li has dedicated himself to Chinese painting and calligraphy while actively engaging in commercial art design. He has created numerous pieces for major enterprises like Huadian Power International Corporation Limited Zouxian Power Plant and Zaozhuang Mining Bureau Group, integrating art with corporate culture. 


Currently serving as a member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, standing council member of the Tengzhou Painting and Calligraphy Association. he continues to promote the inheritance and innovation of Chinese art.
